MFA
SHOW — CHRISTA DALIEN
Lawence Kansas, March 4rd –
8th, 2007
Our good friend Christa recently had her
MFA show after three years of graduate school in Lawrence, Kansas.
She works in printmaking, painting and sculpture, as you can see
here. We visited the day before the show to help with final set-up
details and offer moral support. It's always a fun time visiting
Christa and Adam. I never want to leave when it's time to go.
This
is Christa in her studio. That's me in the background admiring the
prints, and making plans to steal something. I didn't succeed, but
she gave me a few prints.

Kris Holmgren lays on the floor in front
of a wide shot of Christa's installation.

A
closer look.

These are made of felt, cardboard, foam-core-stuff
and paint.

Ariel view of the bleeding logs and colored
rocks. yum.

Yet another view.

Detail of the right side of the triptique. Mediums are acrylic paint
and colored pencil. She says she pushed so hard with the pencils
that her fingers bled. Her professor, Michael Kruger accused her
of going around and stealing all the gray colored pencils from the
art supply stores.
